Scandic Vadsø

One good example that the "Scandic friends" loyalty program still works. We got upgraded the room, which is not common in Scandic hotels the last years (for instance Sandefjord, Kirkenes), so a nice surprise in this hotel. Value for money when low prices; they differ (too much) depending on demand.

The rooms were very cold! Both me and my coworker had trouble sleeping the first night because of it. I got some sort og oven in the room the second day, and it got better. It is also far from soundproof between the rooms. I could hear my neighbour snore, and my coworker could hear me talk on the phone one evening.

If you like a good egg & bacon breakfast, this is not the place. the bacon and sausages is raw. The rooms are old, and you have to be skinny to take a shower. I will recommend you go to Kirkenes and stay at Thon hotell. Cost 150-200$ pr night

The hotel is located in city, and with all the facilities close. The staff is very helpful, and very service minded. There is free parking right outside the door. I will recomand this Scandic Hotel in Vadsø.

This hotel needs refurbishment and is perhaps characterized by little competition. I have stayed here many times and never had a bad stay, but also none excellent. Service-minded employees have lifted our stay. Give the blonde girl at the front desk a salary increase. She has helped us many times with precision, dedication and kindness.

Room poorly cleaned. Leftovers from the previous residents in the fridge. Is this the only hotel in the Nordics without a sauna? Employees did not greet anyone at breakfast. Room too warm. The price of the room is overpriced.

We had a lovely 3 night's stay at the Scandic Vadso. The hotel is located near to the harbour and is close to some lovely places to eat and the local supermarket. Kristian who works at the hotel is lovely. We had asked him about Taxi costs to get back to the airport and he took time out of the day to find out the costs for us and let us know. We had a lovely chat with him about the area and places to visit. This young man went out of his way to deliver exceptional customer service and made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you Kristian.

We stayed for 3 night, primarily as a hub for wildlife photography. I don't believe the restaurant was open, because it is early in the season and Covid has had an impact, but breakfast was great, and there are snack and drink options at reception. The room was a reasonable size, but not big, and was more than fine for my Wife and I. cant say the hotel is expensive, because coming from England, absolutely everything is comparatively expensive. In the evening Kristian looked after us, and provided outstanding customer service, which made the stay more enjoyable. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the Scandic for 4 nights in March 2022. A large hotel, but we were a little early in the season so there were not many guests staying. We discovered on arrival that the restaurant was not open in the evenings (no mention of this on ***********), which left us a bit stuck, but we were directed to the Molla bar opposite which was superb. Our room was warm and spacious (the bathroom fan never turned off which disturbed a bit during the night). The bath was very welcome after a long day out in the snowy landscape. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice. The staff were friendly and special mention to the guy on reception overnight, who was very helpful. On our last night we went over the road as usual for a meal, only to find that it, along with every other eatery, closed on Mondays, so we were left without anywhere to eat. None of the hotel staff had mentioned this during our visit, which was really bad - the hotel surely had a duty of care to ensure we could eat somewhere if their own (advertised) restaurant was unavailable. We had to go to the supermarket and have a carpet picnic. The night manager kindly heated up some soup we had bought in the hotel kitchen - It was -11 deg C outside. Not the last night in Vadso that we had planned.
