Mango Inn Resort

We had a great time at their dive center, UDC, however the accommodation could have been more organized. They didn't seem to have a rhyme or reason to have they gave out the accommodation and who needed to pay extra, every though they were people doing the same course as us. While we enjoyed our time at the dive center and found it easy to talk to/ get help from the dive center staff, I can't say the same about the staff at Mango Inn, especially at reception. The dorms could be better and have a little more storage space and a/c unit. We didn't have a dorm with complete functioning fans which made it difficult to sleep at night and at times made it a long day for diving because we were so tired. Having a/c units in the dorms would make it a more enjoyable experience at the Mango Inn.

The pool area is nice, and the private rooms are too. Stayed as part of the udc package,the dorm rooms are very basic and mango inn were just very disorganised. Kept moving me into different dorms, beds weren't ready on time, office was closed at midday when that's the only place to get water. Restaurant is very expensive.

It’s an old hotel and if anyone walks or talks you can hear them, take ear plugs. It’s very far away from any beach when walking. We took a taxi from the nearest one and it took 4 minutes. The room is very small and there is only one full towel per person. There are No other towels available. Very hot, asked for AC to be repaired and they did right away. Thankfully we were only there for 3 days.

My son and I came and stayed as part of a UDC Open Water Dive package. We upgraded to a standard room which was and add on of $34USD per night. We had a room on the 2nd floor above the pool. The good: beds were comfortable, the room was clean, we had A/C in the room and a private bath. The bad: none really. The hotel is off the main drag which is good, but further to walk to dive each day. We lost cold water one day for maybe half a day and that was about it. It didn't bother us, we weren't in the room very much. We were a little worried that it would be very noisy in this location because of previous reviews, and although there were couple nights that were loud - it wasn't that bad. The restaurant is good, but on the pricier side. Go for 2 for 1 pizza night, which was really good. Office staff was polite and attentive when we had a problem or 2. I have no real complaints and if I dove with UDC again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. The only down side is you are not on or near the water, but we knew that before we came.

Worst experienced ever , no cold water on bathroom , only Hot water,tv wasnt working, contact number in case of an emergency or needed for help. No one answering nor returning the text messages, i wouldnt recomend this place to anyone, filthy

Mango Inn is a mixed bag. It’s a budget accommodation, $156 a night for 4 persons per room. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained, the pool is also a nice area to relax. The rooms itself are fine, except for the bathrooms which are old and poorly maintained. The rooms have water cooler and coffee machines. Besides the bathrooms, which are old and with stains, the other major negative is the customer service. With one exception, I found the staff to not to be friendly or particularly nice, which is a major drawback. Mango Inn also had water issues, one night we were unable to shower (no water available), but this might be a general issue on the island? Also, the breakfast at the restaurant was delayed by up to one hour on several days.

We traveled to Utila with two families and small children which is a bit atypical. We stayed at Mango Inn with adjoining Deluxe Cabins & it was great. For a place place that doesn’t see many children travelers they were very nice. The rooms are clean & spacious as the photos display. The AC is good once you tweak it a bit. The staff was fantastic! We loved the restaurant (pizza!) & the kids had a blast at the pool. We were diving with UDC and got a discount rate which cannot be beat. The rooms are rustic & the lighting leaves a bit to be desired but, if you want 5-star luxury you shouldn’t be on Utila. If you want character & fun times go to Utila & Mango Inn is a comfy retreat at the end of a long day 🍹

Nice resort to stay at with ties to Utila Dive Center. No one picked us up from the ferry so we had to walk with our dive gear and luggage (although we were told multiple times someone would meet us at the ferry). The room was nice and had nice air conditioning, but our room had TONS of mosquitoes, possibly from a fan in the bathroom. It seems like most of the divemaster students stayed here, so it was probably louder later than other places on the island.

On Saturday night and the following Friday night people were extremely loud partying all night long. Apparently this is the big hot spot for mainlanders to come party cuz it is only an hour away by ferry. When we brought it up to management they said there wasn’t anything they could do. We came here with a promotion with Utila Dive Center and are very disappointed.
