Cassia Hill Resort

Amazing location and room, but couldn’t really get service from the person at the front desk nor the one security guy on site who also functioned as the repair guy. We didn’t have lights to our shower area, side table, or front porch, and it was pitch black, but lighting couldn’t be remedied. It’s too bad we didn’t have more time to enjoy the location in the daylight.

Cassia Hill is such a beautiful Resort surrounded by nature its so open that it is so refreshising,hearing the birds at sunrise and seeing the foxes at night amazing the staff so friendly, respectable they made us feel very comfortable. Big thumbs up for the food so delicious no complain at all. The villas are so comfortable and relaxing no noise but plenty of views,we will definitely be staying there again soon.

This place was amazing. Cassia Hill Resort had the best cabins and they were so peaceful, relaxing and so clean making it the best place we stayed during our trip. The staff treated us like family and the food was delicious and always so fresh (especially the local breakfast). The pool was just perfect, it sits on a hill giving you a view of the surrounding mountains and the variety of flora and fauna. The resort is about 30 minutes from Xunantunich Maya ruins and like five from Cahal Pech which are destinations offered by the resort (highly recommend visiting these places). I would recommend this place to any adventure seeker or to anyone looking for the perfect vacation spot. The staff is so friendly and they speak both Spanish and English so you will feel right at home.

I would barely give this place 2 stars. We stayed there for 2 nights with a tour group. We were assigned cabin 15. The water pressure in the shower, sink and toilet was terrible. We asked at the front desk 4 times for them to come fix it. Nothing was done. The final morning we were there the toilet did not even flush as a result of the water pressure. The shower curtain was held up by a tension rod that kept falling down every time we pulled it open or close. The tiles were not completely smooth so there was no place to put it to get real tension. Our group was served 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner there. Every meal was served so slow that by the time we got our food it was cold. The coffee on day 2 was cold also and tasted like it was leftover from the day before. We would never stay there again nor do we reccomend it to anyone.

We visited the property as part of a escorted tour. The parking lot is composed of loose stones, which made rolling luggage and footing difficult. The long paths to the individual dwellings has virtually no lighting, which makes walking on the uneven path difficult at night. The water in the shower never became hot, even after allowing a considerable time. Three wall did not have glass windows, just screens, covered by adjustable wooden privacy panels. As such the A/C was not effective.

I wanted to love this place and to a certain extent did, but improvements are needed. The toilet is inadequate; you need to flush at least three times and even then it might not flush.When we arrived the air conditioner did to work and we had to move to another room. The meals in the restaurant are good, but take a very long time to get. The town of San Ignacio has a wonderful vibe and is only a short taxi ride away, so I suggest if you stay here you visit the great restaurants there.

Stay here for two days recently ..the grounds were spacious the pool was nice and the service and menue selection and food was certainly ok..but the lay out ..i.e. finding our cabin was sometimes difficult at night as little to no cueing/way finding..and the cabins were ok but nothing spectacular

The hotel is not near anything. If you want to go in town, you will need a taxi. The ground itself is pretty with individual bungalow dotted the 22 acres. There are 6 units that have been remodeled and looked pretty comfy. Our bungalow though was all dark wood, like a rustic cabin without the rustic charm. Very basic cabin with erratic WIFI and TV. Water pressure was low and some cabins did not have hot water for shower. The infinity pool was nice. The restaurant was pretty small with friendly staff. Food was not very good. We had chicken kebabs and was dry. chicken fajitas was just ok. You have to preorder your food in advance.

Disappointing stay at Cassia. Booking from out of country so used *******. The word deluxe should be no where in the advertising description but it was and rented a deluxe cabin. It was a very tired old not very clean old cabin with uncomfortable beds, that creaked when you moved and very hard mattresses. The duvets were not clean, there were crumbs on them when we arrived. icky bathrooms and I found a condom wrapper under the nightstand when I went looking for my AirPods that went missing during my stay and I still have not found. I had put the do not disturb on my door before I left and they still went in and made my bed which bothered me. When we went to leave after two nights we realized there was another path that took us past brand new villas that were gorgeous. If you stay here please make sure to ask because I was confused and rented the deluxe cabins thinking they would be the calibre of what I found in the villas when leaving. There was an extra charge of $40 US for each of my young teens under 17 travelling with us which I felt was steep. When asked for a discount due to the disappointment of our stay and missing AirPods they took $5 off of each child’s fee. I didn’t wish to complain about my stay because I thought this is as good as it gets in Belize, but it is disappointing to not have been offered the best rooms they had. The cabins were too expensive for what they were. The pool was gorgeous and grounds were lovely just make sure to ask for new villas as the advertising for cabins is misleading unless you enjoy rustic camping.
