Nilka Hotel Boutique

My husband and I stayed at the Nilka hotel in February 2023. On the plus side, the hotel is well-located (a few streets from the Malecon) and is very clean. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast. On the downside, we had booked a room with a balcony and a double bed. When we got there we were told that the only room left was with 2 twin beds. We accepted it since we weren't going to spend much time in our room anyway. Turned out fine for us since the tv didn't work (fault of the cable company), we didn't have any balcony and the pool was also not working. Besides these setbacks, we still enjoyed our stay there.

I am a reoest guest and i must say the quality in service is lower. I fist stayed in Niika Hotel in August 2019 and the staff was amazing, the room was neat and clean. And now that I returned with my family it seems that management has changed amd so has my experience, somehow. We asked for extra towels and the night clerk told us thet coulnd provide any, even though we have paid for 2 extra children who has to reuse our towels. Breakfast was as delicious as the first time. We are glad we got to enjoy it and our waitress was amazing. She is the only rock star who remains with a beautiful smile and great service. Bathroom was not so clean amd there was a mold smell in our room. Requested late checkout and the manager denied the authorization and there were not such a request from other guests, the clerk advised. They still have safe parking and great coffee. I feel disappointed they did not try any further for solutions to the addressed needs.

We had a reservation for a deluxe room for two nights. Luckily we did not pay in advance. Today at arrival they presented a room no and only after our demanding request they confessed that all king/queen rooms with view were already book. First they offered a standard room with view to a construction site for the SAME rate. Second they showed two ‘deluxe’ rooms with view with two single beds. There was no excuse - nothing. They stated that all their rooms would have the same rate. We demonstrated that their website showed different rates. When presenting their website they started blabbing. As they did not move in any direction- neither providing an upgrade to the available suite - not reducing the rate for taking the standard room ( would have been ONLY $9 difference!!!) we decided that we did not want to stay with such scumbag. (Sorry for the wording, but that’s exactly what it felt like) We are fluent in Spanish so language was not the problem! We really do NOT RECOMMEND staying there. It is not a boutique hotel. It is just called boutique hotel. We drove up the hill just 1 minute/ 1 road and checked in at beautiful casa docia boutique hotel. We got a wonderful small room with view for the same rate. Very friendly people, nice fresh rooms, beautiful Art Deco architecture and a nice pool. What a nice turnout at the end after the unpleasant experience at Nilka.

Simply the best hotel I stayed at in the DR. Prices are reasonable. Breakfast is essentially a made to order buffet. They will make whatever you want with whatever they have on hand, unlimited times, within the 2 hour period breakfast is available. They also have an endless supply of free (bottled) water. I got the room with the balcony at the end of the hallway. The AC is a bit weak; the room is an "L" shape so it doesn't quite cool the entire room. You basically have to be sitting within the path of the fan to feel the coldness. This is about the only downside of the hotel. It's wall to wall and ceiling to ceiling glass sliding doors with good black out curtains and see through curtain. There's a separate table and two chairs here, along with a single couch seat. The shower is spacious enough and they have a high basin sink so you don't splash water anywhere. This place was super clean. The floors were sparkling clean, the sheets were fresh and clean, and there were no smells at all to the room. The tv was also quite big and had English Speaking stations, Thank God. CNN International and Miami over the air Stations (NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS). Highly recommended.

Nilka Boutiqe Hotel is a nice little hotel in Samana. It is located in the second rows behind the sea. The rooms there are nicely furnished. The bed is comfortable and you can sleep well. It is enough for a stay of 2-3 days. Negative was unfortunately the bathroom. The door to this was broken, so you could close the door, but no longer open alone once you were in the bathroom. The construction of the bathroom was also rather negative. Very very small and when showering you automatically flooded the bathroom. The breakfast was good and sufficient. There were fresh fruits eggs. Everything was freshly made. Also you have a private, guarded parking lot. This is very positive. The service in general was also top.

Hotel muito sujo. Claramente não passavam um pano há dias. Outro ponto foi o barulho. 02:00am as pessoas conversando muito alto e batendo porta nos corredores… Não dormimos quase nada. Os quartos não vedam bem o barulho. Foi uma experiência horrível…

Muy lindo hotel, lugar muy bonito para desayunar (incluso te dejan utilizar esta zona para comer/cenar) Nosotros estuvimos alojados 3 noches, la habitación con vista interna muy silenciosa y con muy buen aire acondicionado. Baño viejo, pero sin problemas. La señal de WiFi no es de lo mejor, pero pudimos usarlo en habitación (no en espacios comunes). El personal muy atento. Desayuno rico. Tienen estacionamiento cerrado y seguro para dejar el auto. El Hotel está ubicado muy cerca del centro, en esta zona hay locales /restaurantes muy ruidosos, pero el hotel es muy silencioso y se puede descansar bien. y se encuentra muy cerca de donde salen las excursiones a Cayo Levantado.Super recomendable si pasan por Samaná. Volvería a alojrame aquí..
