The worst hotel Experience in my life, racism, verbal and physical threats!!! I couldn’t believe still what has happened to me and my mum at the Hotel. Arrived at 8 p.m. checked in with Fernando, an owner and a property manager of a Sri lankan origin. Room given 114, quite small, with no opening doors or windows for fresh air. Paid 192 dollars for a 34 sq meters room as per pics on booking showing a large comfortable room. Talked nicely the same night to clarify, and was told by Fernando that if I don’t like it I shall leave immediately at 9 p.m. and find something else. And no other rooms available due to the Army people fully booked the hotel. Clearly speaking I was given the worst room as I arrived late. My mum couldn’t sleep properly as the balcony door locked and no fresh air in the room. No ventilation either due to property being a heritage listed old property. Looks amazing from the outside, moldy and filthy inside. At 192 AUD plus 50 AUD for a breakfast. Is it legal to provide accommodation without proper ventilation? How can you rely on aircon? Air con is inside and recirculates the air inside of the room. Woke up at 3 a.m., opened the entrance door for some air to be able to breathe. Security reasons- so someone could have walked in. Slept with the open door the rest of the night. Following morning I complained to Fernando about mold, no air in the room, no ventilation and I said that’s not a good value for 192 dollars. Fernando burst out of anger, called me a f””””king Russian, that I am a mums boy and shall leave the hotel immediately. He came out of the reception desk, came in very closely to me face to face like 2 sm. And threatened me. I asked him if he is going to slap me? He was very close to this. I was in a state of a shock! I still couldn't believe this has happened to me in Australia at a 4 star property! I give this property 0 Star review. I never experienced such a verbal and physical abuse. I was polite and my complaints are substantiated by evidence. I immediately called the Police Link and submitted the report to them. I am thinking to press charges as this behaviour of a property manager and customer service completely unprofessional and unlawful . I personally feel I have experienced a clear example of racism. I have lived in Australia for 9 years on an Australian passport (yes Russian descent) and never felt something like that. If you book this property please do so at your own risk. If you sensitive to Mold and extremely bad customer service be mindful of what I wrote. I also complained to the booking com and I will provide the update in a further review.
