Cartier Mansion

Wonderful weekend get away in Ludington. Stayed at the amazing Cartier Mansion Bed and Breakfast downtown. The accomodations were amazing and the breakfast incredible.The homemade cinnamon rolls—a family recipe— were so good! If you’re looking for an overnight escape or just out exploring the state, I highly recommend it! Jenna and Chris Simpler are outstanding hosts and are working so hard to preserve the home’s history! #puremichigan

What a wonderful experience! Jenna and Chris have a unique property that is meticulously cared for and every care is taken so you enjoy. We stayed in the Stable Room in the carriage house and we loved it. So beautiful and comfortable. Loved the sitting area with coffee bar and electric fireplace. The walk in shower was great. King sized bed was ever so nice! Loved how the features of original stable were utilized into furniture and decor. The mansion is absolutely stunning! Can’t wait to stay there. Breakfast was an adventure for your tastebuds! Had a chance to talk to Chris the Chef. Main house has snack bar with coffees and teas always available. Invitation to a 4:30 cocktail time allowed guests to meet and talk to host and Jenna shared history of the Mansion. Really enjoyed! She also shared dinner spots and points of interest for each guest. The communication between the B&B and guests was enhanced by Cartier App. We will be back!

The beauty of this amazing B&B and attention to every detail makes this B&B visit a superior experience. Breakfast is fine dining quality and Jenna is a welcoming and congenial hostess adding much to the pleasant atmosphere of this exceptional B&B.

I had no idea that the bathroom was not connected to the room. I guess we were in the old servant's quarters, but it did not make it clear on line that we would have to walk in a hallway to get to the bathroom. The bathtubs seem original so if you are looking for a nice shower... you won't experience that in this hotel. That all being said, It was a unique experience and the owner was very nice. We were supposed to have a tour of the mansion during the happy hour but another couple was there and seemed content just to stand around the table and talk since they had been there before so we never got our tour. Unfortunately my husband had a medical emergency at night so we were unable to stay for breakfast and had to go home. They did not refund our second night, but said they would give us a credit towards another stay. I don't think we will be back. If you are looking for a unique place to stay in a very authentic turn of the century home, this is the perfect fit for you. Ludington State Park is close by and we enjoyed hiking there.

First, beore we got there, we got a few helpful texts explaining the parking lot, how to use the keyless entry, and recommendations about what to do in town. When we arrived, the room was super clean and comfy. We were in the Lighthouse room. It has a kingsize bed, and I have to say the bed had soft and cozy linens and pillows, and my husband and I slept like babies. There were chocolates waiting for us at check-in, and at 4:30pm, a cocktail is served to all the guests, and the owner chats about the history of the home's owners, interior items , and how it came to be a charming B&B. At night, they light the firepit for a nice end to the evening. The breakfast is delicious, all home-made, and you are assigned a time to come down to dine. They accomodated me with a vegetarian breakfast. Yum! They even serve icecream for breakfast on one of the mornings! We spent one night in this beautiful mansion that was built in the early 1900's. The home only traded hands a few times, and each owner never comprimised the integrity of its original design. The ambiance is so chill,the history is fascinating, and the grand player piano is a hightlight. Thank you Jenna and Chris for sharing this gem of a home, and making our stay so enoyable.

5 out of 5 This place was beautiful , clean and accommodating in a great location. Not only were they good to my husband and myself, but went out of their way to make our pup so happy as well. They communicated all things Ludington prior to our arrival so we we able to start relaxing the second we arrived. Jenna and Chris were incredible hosts, we will be back.

Great experience! We spent 2 nights at this beautiful mansion near downtown Ludington. They had a lot of touches that were special - fire pit lit at 7:00 each night, custom chocolates in the room, and LUXURIOUS bedding! Chris and Jenna were gracious hosts, and the breakfast was FANTASTIC! Highly recommend!

We stayed in the Edison Suite, a converted garage on the ground floor of the Carriage House. Lovely, immaculate, accommodations with a very comfortable King-sized bed. (If you prefer hard beds, this may not be comfortable for you, but I loved the softer mattress and slept very well) The bathroom was ample with a shower that is ADA approved. There is a little fridge in the room along with coffee maker, and the chocolates were a nice touch. The breakfasts are made from scratch and both days were different and very tasty. They can accommodate vegetarians, just let them know in advance. They have different seating times in the morning and you sit at your own table. The house is historic and fun to browse around. There is a game room on the first floor and sitting rooms. You are a few minutes from the beach and a few miles from the beautiful State Park. Very close to shops and restaurants downtown. Recommend this B and B if you visit Ludington.

My husband & I stayed for one night that happened to be my birthday. Chris & Jenny made sure it was extra special with a surprise for me upon our arrival. The mansion was clean & efficiently run. The owners were respectful & very thoughtful. We loved our stay at the Cartier Mansion. I'd love to stay again if it is ever possible. Thank you for a great experience in the mansion of my dreams!
