Cheval the Edinburgh Grand

We LOVE Cheval & enjoyed our stay with Cheval in London Quey and as well as in Edinburgh. We booked this Deluxe one bedroom apar**ent with clove meaning 1 King bed & 1 double bed. The service is spotless. The bedroom, bed, pillow, blanket super comfortable and lavish and feel like home. The amenities shower gel, conditioner shampoo etc are very top quality. They serve breakfast at this Cheval , the breakfast take a little long but delicious . The location is awesome , very centralised walking distance to Edinburgh Castle and malls and restaurants everywhere.

Apar**ent was very spacious and clean. Our bed was okay although the pillows could be better. We had a great time preparing our dinners here because many cooking tools are provided. There are two washing tablets for our three-night stay so we did have to get our own at a Sainsbury’s nearby since we did have more clothes to wash. The washer worked fine but the dryer somehow didn’t. We tried to use it three times but the clothes were still wet in the end. We had to hang dry our clothes in the closet after spinning them at a higher RPM, which was fine because they got all dry by the next morning. There’s also an app for the hotel that you can download where you can request services from the front desk, which I thought was a nice touch. Staff was generally friendly and the location of the apar**ent was close to several restaurants and a grocery store, and it’s not too far from the train station. I’d definitely consider staying here if I ever visit Edinburgh again.

This was my second visit to this gorgeous hotel. My fiancée and I had originally planned to stay for 2 nights, but when we woke up on the third morning, we decided to stay an extra night - because of the hotel's exceptional service. We never knew at the time that this decision would be our nigh**are. We were exhausted from our day in the city and were trying to sleep. But to everyone's surprise, the fire alarm rang 2 hours after we had fallen asleep. We woke up from our dream, my wife didn't have time to change her shoes and was rushed to the road across the road from the hotel wearing only her hotel slippers and watched as two fire trucks pulled up in front of the hotel and the firemen entered the hotel. It was raining heavily and my wife was soaking wet from the calf down as the two of them watched the flashing lights of the ambulance trucks in front of the hotel gates. I took the coat I was wearing off over her head, but it still didn't stave off the high fever she had back at the hotel, thinking to myself that the hotel would surely give us a fair compensation. After the fire was over, the sound of the alarm was all in our heads which deprived our sleepiness. We complained to the hotel about it, the employee Ayoola, at the front desk wearing an orange warning vest. “That it was a false/fault alarm, there were no injuries or deaths, so there was nothing we could do other than delaying the fire for an hour until 12am”, He said. After nearly five more minutes of interaction with him, the scenario under his breath was changed to a delay to 1pm. And we were told to contact his supervisor if we had any doubts. So I gave him my mobile phone number.At 10.42am the supervisor Christine called and spoke to us in a negotiating tone, even apologising with a "what can you do about it" attitude. After some negotiation, she finally agreed to extend until 3pm, just because the housekeeping team will be off clocks at 3pm. We felt no respect throughout the whole incident - I don't know if it's because we booked the lowest level of “luxury open plan studio” in Cheval the Edinburgh Grand. Maybe if we have the financial means to afford a higher class suite, the hotel will show us a bit more respect. That's all for now, I'm going to make my wife a cup of hot ginger lemon tea and I just hope the love of my life makes a speedy and healthy recovery.

The best hotels I ever visited. Located in the centre of the city centre near a famous Indian restaurant, and close to Mc and KFC as well ＞~＜ it’s super convenient to go everywhere. Must be my choice for next time travelling in Edinburgh!!!

Excellent location, close to most of the attractions. Room very comfortable with lots of kitchen ware can use handy. Only minor issue is the mattress kind of worn out and should be replaced.
