A first class hotel with first class staff. The location is good, no sea views but in a quiet street in the centre of old Jewish Quarter, one minute from the harbour and within walking distance to some of the best restaurants and shops. The finishing, furnishings and fittings are excellent, our suite (7) was spacious, well equipped and had a large outside terrace area. Room service and housekeeping were both exemplary, the breakfasts were served in the lovely open courtyard area, there was enough choice to satisfy most tastes and the food was great. The hotel is five minutes walk to the nearest place where a taxi could meet or drop you, we did not hire a car, but I imagine parking would be much further away. The hotel arranged our transfers, dealt with our luggage, recommended restaurants and arranged a private taxi tour to the archeological sites we wanted to visit. Minor downsides - there is no elevator and access to our suite involved three flights of stairs, the last one of which had no handrail, plus another internal staircase to get to our mezzanine bedroom area. This would not concern visitors younger than us, and we managed ok. The bedroom area was poorly lit but unlike other reviewers, we found the air conditioning adequate in 35° outside temperature. Highly recommended.
