I really take a lot of time researching the perfect places to stay on any of the trips that I plan. When travelling through Europe, I always try to find something, beautiful, traditional and romantic. I was overjoyed to come across this beautiful place and immediately knew that we would need to stay here for a couple of days as we made our way from Andorra to Monaco. This beautiful old chateau is about 300 years old (with the vineyards and estate dating back to the XIXth century) and is surrounded by vineyards just on the outskirts of Beziers. They offer a handful of extremely well-appointed rooms that are filled with antiques and all kinds of nik-naks. Our amazing and very gracious host, Mr Jean Viennet, met us at the front door and welcomed us to his family estate. He is a famous artist, as his wife Christine, who was unfortunately away in Peru when we arrived. Their estate is filled with his paintings and Christine's amazingly detailed ceramic art. Jean gave us a tour inside and outside of his wonderful home and we saw the greenhouse and pool as well as the pond and so many different walking paths to explore. We had chosen the Yellow Deluxe Double Room With Garden View, it was so amazing - with a big bathroom and a deep tub and big gorgeous windows to let in the sun and the breeze. Jean even cooked us a wonderful dinner with the help of a young Polish girl named Monica, who was very friendly and always had a big smile on her face. Breakfast was also very nice and we spent a lot of time at the pool and wandering around the garden. We were sad to have to leave this place. We hope to return one day soon and to spend more time there! We can not recommend Chateau de Raissac enough!! Thanks so much to Jean and Monica for making our stay so delightful!!
