The Clan Hotel Singapore by Far East Hospitality

I’ve seen raving online reviews for the Clan hotel since its opening at 2021. The Clan is a small boutique hotel that is well maintained with superb amenities. Some of the notably facilities that impressed me are the infinity pool and the gym that came with great city views, the small heat jacuzzi beside the pool and lastly, the heated Japanese bidet toilet seat located in every room. The location is great, as it’s located within the CBD area and there’s lots of choices on how you want to spend your time. Personally I’ve spent my entire afternoon with my staycation companion just roaming and exploring around the upscale stores around the hotel. We had our meals at the hawker/food centres around the hotel. Breakfast at Amoy food centre, lunch at Maxwell food centre and dinner at Lau Pa Sat hawker centre. Staff were also generally friendly and exhibited great service. The downside would be overcrowding at the pool since it’s a really small pool. Also, some staff appears to be not in the mood to be hospitable. The service was really unpleasant. The tea artist served three groups of guests at one go with the tea sets that he prepared. Nothing wrong with it. However, he only engaged one group of guests to brief about the items that was being served, and he didn’t bother to make eye contact at all with the other two group of the guests, including mine. Then there is the calligraphy artist that also didn’t bother to take the initiative to engage us during her session outside the gym. Perhaps, one have to be a foreigner or you have to dress up nicer for the staycation at the Clan to enjoy the full service at the hotel. On this occasion, I’ve received 3 star. I’ll still return if the price is cheap but would just skip the add on programmes offered by the hotel since it’s clearly not for locals.

Second booking the same hotel and room for my birthday stay! Location is convenient with the train station just around the corner and plenty of good food & drinks nearby. Love the hotel atmosphere and hospitality, appreciate the birthday cake sent to my room :) Pool and Jacuzzi were great as well, just keep a look out for peak timings. The gym has an amazing but weather was way too hot to work out when the sun hits the building. Would suggest opting their breakfast for the 1st day and explore other options outside the hotel on the remaining stay (Amoy street has quite a few cafes)

The Clan hotel is located conveniently by MRT stations to enable easy travel across the city of Singapore. Within walking distance there are many restaurants offering a choice of styles and also the nightly Satay street for street food experience and the Chinatown point shopping center with all your. Being very new the hotel has great in-room and shared facilities including the wonderful gym and pool on the 30th floor with tremendous views. Staff were excellent and breakfasts offered a great choice, hot and cold and was regularly refreshed.

My husband booked the staycation to celebrate my birthday. This was our second time at The Clan as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay back in Dec 2021. He email the hotel before the stay to notify the hotel of the celebration. When we checked in, we were offered the lowest room floor. And we noticed all the tourists had all the high floors. Not only that, when we entered the room, the welcome name on the TV screen was not even our name. It was someone else's. This is really bad. Also, there isn't even a slice of cake. Not that we want that cake so badly, but it's the service. We stayed at many 5 star hotels in SG for special occasions and they would always give a slice of cake or something. Service wise, it was also hit and miss. There used to be turn down service but they don't do that now anymore. Breakfast was really not up to standard like before. Previously during pandemic they offered a la carte style and the food back then tasted good. It's back to buffet style now but the selection is really not a lot. The least we've ever had. Honestly really quite pathetic for a 5 star hotel. The tag line of the hotel is, 自己人。We don't don't feel that hospitality at all. It is definitely our worst staycation and we won't be back again. There's many other hotels around that offers better service and quality.

Was looking forward to stay at Clan Hotel since its opening and finally got the chance with a one night stay. Pros: - Location is good, right beside Telok Ayer MRT and a 5-7min walk to Chinatown - Front desk staff were friendly and efficient for check-in/check-out. Queues may be a bit long at peak timings so do give them some time to sort things out - (Deluxe) Room was really nice, a little small but had everything necessary for a nice stay. Toilet was clean, and the day bed was a nice addition for taking IG pictures if that is your thing. Beds were also clean and really comfy for a good night’s rest. Tv was large and great for watching own shows via chromecast - The complimentary drinks, tea/coffee and welcome gift were a nice touch too - The sky pool was amazing with a really nice view of the Tanjong Pagar area! Jacuzzi was located beside the pool and enjoyed having a soak in it Cons: - The aircon seemed a bit warm, had set to 18deg but felt like 21-22 instead - I wished that I had booked more than one night because it was a really enjoyable stay! (Not the hotel’s fault of course) Hoping to stay here again when there’s a good deal! (:

Room was spacey, bed cosy, staff friendly and even brought us a small cake as we mentioned it was our anniversary. Loved how everything was inspired by tea, especially the shampoo & conditioner which smelt heavenly.

Second time staying in this hotel. But would prefer the room that i first stayed. Have to wait for an hour to check in as i would prefer a king bed. But room is very much smaller as it is a corner room and there is no full mirror. So for ladies that will not be that good. Waited for the tea ceremony but was not served the tea. Hence decided not to wait further and went up to the room. If i compare to the previous time, service really not up to the mark. Breakfast variety still can be improved.
