Not my first time staying in this hotel in Steven Road. They have bus transfer to orchard road and mrt station so good for those who dont drive. It has a classy reception area with crystal hanging from the ceiling. This time round not sure if they have change to another lobby scent. Personally i do not like it… one had to wait for awhile to check in as there were many guests. Room is clean and all the room amenities are available. Maybe Accor could look into changing the towels as some are fraying off. Notice that this time round the lifts are very stuffy and it s seem to have no fan blowing in it. My second time having breakfast in Food exchange but this time is huge disappoin**ent. The varieties has been reduced slightly. The section for porridge , dimsum… the stove is not really working. Hence the food is not hot. Compared to first time round, i dont think i will want to spend my money here.

Room is acceptably clean and spacious enough. Shower is great with good water pressure that I love. The shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in bottle dispensers are also well appreciated, unlike tiny bottles provided by other hotels usually. Room has no bathrobe and bottled water though.
Pillows, bed, duvet and couch are comfortable.
I like the infinity swimming pool with pool chairs slightly submerged in water. Would be better if they have changing rooms and steambaths by the pool.
Counter staff were ok but not very experienced or friendly. One of them behaved quite aloof.
I broke a drinking glass when I tried to wash it. It broke really easily after it toppled sideways on the sink and i had to pay $15 for it. Probably should change to stronger glasses.

Previously stayed at mecure & overall was okay , thought of paying slightly more to see what Novotel has to offer .
Room is spacious , bed is comfy . View was alright too , though the location maybe abit off but there is shuttle bus . There are also shops downstairs so it’s fine .
Smart tv only provide screen mirror for android , hope to have chromecast in the future . The sink & shower needs an upgrade .. the phone doesn’t work too when I needed to request something from the recep 🤦🏻♀️
breakfast spread is there but lack of quality & standard 😡😡 it was fine until my soup noodles have an insect in it !! I seriously hope is not a baby cockroach because after I ate few mouths it then I saw it in my bowl 🤢 was pretty pleased w Novotel until my breakfast . It was 5 stars to me but it became 2 .. food hygiene is important I believe for an international branded hotel
Maybe you guys can book the room without breakfast for the future ..

Novotel is next door to Mercure. They share the gym and swimming pool. Both are nice hotels to stay. They are in very quiet neighborhood and not very far from Orchard. Also they are close to some very nice jogging trails to either Botanic Garden or Goodwood Park Hill. But Novotel is little more expensive than Mercure, as its room size is bigger. If the budget allows, I prefer Novotel.

When we went into the room, some rubbish were still in the bin, there was an opened box, and an opened vanity packed still there that we had to clear away. The room felt dusty as well. We then asked for extra bath towels as there was only one, which never came after 3 hours. So we had to make a another call for the bath towels as I need to shower my kids. This time, we asked for 2 extra pillows as well. When it all came, only 1 pillow was given to us. We informed the housekeeping guy that he had missed out 1 pillow, he said he will come back with it, but never did.
In terms of the room, the light switches weren't all functioning well. The foyer lights and the pantry lights switches could not be turn off unless you use the master switch to turn all lights off. When you press the lights to turn off the foyer or pantry light, it will turn off for 2 seconds and then turn back on again.
All in all, not an enjoyable experience and not a hotel that we will return for staycation.

Room not clean with rubbish in bins, opened box lying around, and dust around tv area. Light switches were not working fully as some lights can't be turn off.
Services wise, requested for extra bath towels but didn't come till we called again 3 hours later. Asked for 2 extra pillow but only 1 came. When we inform the housekeeper who sent it over, was told he'll return but never did. Overall, not a hotel I'll come back to.

Nice hotel complex with restaurants and plenty of amenities. Laundry room was clutch after having been traveling for 2 weeks. Laundry machines could be sanitized more thoroughly. Gym and pools were fantastic.
Only gripe was front desk staff had a few junior associates that seemed quite oblivious to basic details of customer service. I ordered food delivery, came down and asked a tall gentlemen at the front desk if my food arrived. He immediately said “no haven’t seen it”. I said “are you sure? Uber eats app says it arrived”, he said it had not. I took two steps to my left to peek around the front desk area and found my food was sitting right on a counter in the corner. I made him aware of this and he didn’t offer any reply. This is not service becoming of a international flag like Novotel. Others like the cleaning staff, more senior front desk staff, even the trainer in the gym were all great.

Service was great. Had a free upgrade, but room was a bit dusty/carpets were a bit dirty. Kettle in the room was a little faulty.
Sound proofing needs improvement as well - can hear doors open and close from neighbouring rooms all the time.
Other than that, pretty decent!
