Pleasant rooms and good breakfast but I cannot recommend this hotel. They really need to decide if they want to be a bar or a hotel. Ridiculous noise levels in the evenings. On complaining I was told that all hotels in Ohrid are like this at weekends. They're not! We walked all the way back from the old town and commented that we were glad we weren't staying one particular hotel. Then got to ours where the noise was even worse!

This is a nice hotel with lovely rooms and friendly staff but as many reviewers have pointed out before me( and it’s a big but )the music is very intrusive and goes on to 1am. So if you are a person who likes a good nights sleep this hotel should be avoided at all costs. We had a lovely room right at the front of the hotel but a live band started playing at around 11 at top volume, so much so that the base could be felt in the room. We went down and complained but there was nothing they could do but promised to try and move us, which they did the next day to a room furthest away from the front. This was significantly better with much less noise. Whoever owns this hotel gives more consideration to the bar than to their guests at the hotel. Breakfast was very good but I would strongly recommend anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere unless they are prepared to be sleepless until 1am.

Books in large groups but elevator fits only one person with luggage at a time. Wasn’t even working at one point in our two night stay. Had to drag luggage up three flights of circular stairs. No help from staff. Final insult was being forced to pay 10€ for lost key which was a white plastic card with no ID of either room or hotel. It has to be used for power in the room so no way to secure it in my bag until I left the room. Musta fallen out of my pocket while still on the property for breakfast. But they absolutely insisted on the lost key fee for a piece of white plastic with no markings. Pirates I say!

We visited this hotel on our third day after spending two nights in another hotel. We chose this one because it looked very modern and in excellent location. Initially the room was given to us was very small, dated and quite dark and further to that remote for the a/c unit was missing. We reported this first thing but I had to go to reception twice during the day. However igor kindly changed our room to the one facing the lake with a larger one. Unfortunately I had to go back and forth to resolve this which was not ideal when you spend a day in a hotel. I would advise any one visiting to book rooms facing the lake. I wish I would have told by the reception staff hotel facilities even the hotel provides bean bags at the front not just breakfast times. However overall staff was very friendly and helpful apart from the one I mention below. The cafe/restaurant is very nice to sit (if you ignore the miserable waitress) and relaxed but it can get a bit hot. Overall I would re visit this hotel but make the right choices with rooms.

Okay I stayed at SU from July 30th -August 10th (we extended out trip). Me and my friend has the most beautiful experience at this hotel from the amazing food to the cocktails and the superior customer service from the wait staff and the hotel staff they made us feel like family which with it being our first time in Europe meant the absolute world to us. Also, AMAZING ENTERTAINMENT!!! I truly don't have one complaint. Managment went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great. I even booked for next year. I can't wait to visit SU again.

Hotel on the shore of the lake across the road, with a pedestrian promenade towards the city center. If you want a room with a lake view, be prepared for a noisy bar downstairs. At the back of the hotel, the rooms are less noisy with a view of the surrounding buildings. Limited parking options. The rooms are smaller and clean with an interesting ceiling solution.

If the hotel fails the main thing you are paying for - the ability to sleep - then they somewhat fail as a hotel. Due to the bar and restaurant being to the immediate left of our room which was tucked back, noise reverberated back and the parties both nights we stayed had us awake until well after 1 am. Our room was clean and well appointed and the bed comfortable. Our lake view overlooked someone’s lawn with cars and a boat but the view of the actual lake was nice. If you’re looking for a good time, by all means, stay here. If you need a good rest after very physical days, find somewhere else.
