Refborg Hotel

Located across the road from Lego House and a short distance to Legoland this hotel is in an ideal location. Just be aware that if you have any mobility issues/ a lot of luggage this hotel requires you to walk up stairs that become quite narrow at the top. All rooms are on the first floor with the shop/ restaurant on the ground level. Free parking directly out the front of the hotel. Breakfast was nice with pastries/ yogurt/ bacon/eggs/ cheese/ coffee etc. For the black tea drinkers from abroad there is no normal tea just flavored so back some tea bags if you like a morning tea. Room Good size Double bed was two joined together so they have a gap in the middle with two mattress toppers so can become uncomfortable. Tea/sugar/coffee/kettle /creamer in room No fridge Plenty of towels Clean Just shampoo in the shower N Hand wash /lotion in dispensers near sink no body wash or soap so pack some. Radiators for heating no air con but likely not needed in this area. Draws if you want to unpack. Rooms are similar to a motel style basic furnishings but clean. Staff were friendly Drinks and food are fairly high but that will be due to the tourist area it is in. 250dk average for a main meal. Food did smell nice and dining room is nice. Hotel shop has the basics and there is a supermarket right next door open till 7pm. Not a lot of hotels in this area apart from Legoland ones so this is a good option for short stays in the area. In all a great visit.

We stayed at this property during a trip to the Lego House. It was the perfect location. A quick drive from the airport, and walking distance to restaurants and the Lego House. The hotel is lovely, the rooms were clean and bright, nice shower, great breakfast and helpful staff. I would stay here again any time we make it back to Billund and recommend it to all.

Stayed 3 nights here recently with 2 children in a family room. Very good location for the Lego House and central Billund - Legoland and Lalandia walkable. Fairly basic but good quality breakfast. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but it looked nice. Kettle provided in room which is very helpful. Decent sized supermarket next door. Slight ******* - family room was ok for 3 but would have been a bit cramped for 4. I found the room very warm but luckily unlike in many UK hotels you can fully open windows. Some noise from passing traffic and aircraft but mostly peaceful.

THE REFBORG in Billund is an AWESOME FIND. So relaxing, quiet, peaceful and a FANTASTIC SMORGASBORD BREAKFAST! And just two minutes from The Lego House. Amazing. We had a family room with bunkbeds and queen bed. Delightful. Teens loved it.

Would absolutely stay again. Book with confidence. Cheery, smiling faces, such attention to detail. The breakfast buffet with fresh FRESH fruit, Cheeses, meats, home-baked Breads, Danish pastries that are beautiful DANISH style, hot foods - eggs, bacon, etc. Ahhh. Lovely. Very good value for return. Beds so comfy with thick duvet and lush mattresses. CLEAN CLEAN EVERYTHING. Traveling with two teen grandchildren who say that THE REFBORG HOTEL is The Best Stay we've had in 20 days of traveling in Europe. I agree. (NOTE: My pics were taken after buffet closed - the staff kept bringing out more choices but they were enjoyed quickly! 😊)

Very cosy place, large room with soft beds, beautiful surroundings! Close to all Billund activities. Only small minus for the breakfast: for adults it was very fine but for kids: they did not find much to eat :( also there was a bit of rush in a quite small breakfast area.

I visited this lovely hotel for only one night before travelling across to Copenhagen. Flew in to Billund to take my son for his 13th Birthday to the wonderful Lego House. I’m not massively into Lego but really enjoyed it too. Back to the hotel. The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. It is a family run more traditional Danish hotel where you are warmly welcomed. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. I spotted a thoughtfully equipped children’s are near the top of the stairs, good for younger children. Big supermarket opposite and some nice shops and restaurants around including a lovely interiors shop and pretty florists. The location is one minute from the Lego house so easy peasy, you can see it from some rooms. There is a sweet deli inside the hotel selling wonderful things including traditionally tanned sheepskins at a reasonable price. I bought a grey Gotland one and always think of the hotel when I sit on it. Most memorable was the delicious meal we ate there and the breakfast, the best food I had in Denmark and the bar is high. There is no where else I’d stay in Billund.

Absolutely perfect stay. Fantastic location to Lego House. I could see it from our window! (Room 25) Spotlessly clean,large room, very quiet and comfy. Staff was friendly and nothing was difficult to do. If you want to stay away from the major hotels closer to Legoland, this is absolutely ideal. There is a supermarket next door if you need anything, fridge and microwave in the communal space for storing food or want a quick meal. There is a game corner for younger kids if they still have energy after a day in lego House or Legoland. Had an ironing board and iron and shoe cleaner too if anyone stays for a more formal event. Convenient location to the town centre and Legoland too. We walked from the airport, took us about 45 mins. There is quite a few restaurants nearby, if you don't want to eat in the hotel's own. Breakfast was continental style buffet,well stocked all fresh and really yummy. The only thing we missed is sweeteners for coffee, but it's a small thing. Although we arrived by plane, there were ample parking spaces at the front, if anyone drives there. Free wifi was also provided, and it was good signal. We definitely had a great stay, and would recommend to anyone without any hesitation.
